This is the first 'solo' album by Toni Hautamäki, after putting the long lasting project a Spokane on hold in year 2010. Many of the songs have been made 2009-2010 after moving back to Turku from Helsinki via Mäntyharju. Mot Mot is a band (name may change later) of old and new friends. Marko Hongisto, bass (Boomhauer & Hiljaiset Kallot) has been already in a Spokane which was formed in 2000 by Toni Hautamäki, Marko Hongisto and Juha Kiskonen (Nightsatan). Niko Karlsson, guitar, vocals (ex- Navigations, Altaat, publishing also music under his own name ((Check out from Spirit of Orr) is Hautamäki's friend from the times when they both studied in the Art School of Turku 2001-2005. Teppo Pulli, drums ( Xysma) came to help when no other drummers were available and seems now to be a must father-figure for Mot Mot. This album is very much a Turku -based album made by friends of Toni Hautamäkis. One important reason to move back for him was to get all this together again. Pentti Dassum's work is a key-element for how this music came to be. Heidi Horila, Matti Ikonen (Daisy/Nightsatan) and Matti Ranki (Nopat) came to help and also made an important effort to make this album what it is now. I was born in Turku 1977. When I first heard Kurt Cobain singing 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' in MTV 1991 something fundamental happened. I started playing guitar. Since 2009 I have been making music every day but I work also as a visual artist, painter. Neil Young and Eppu Normaali are my big favorites. I listen to jazz a lot. Glenn Gould is my favorite pianist and John Cage my favorite composer. ... more
